for brandon...

My brother had this on his blog a while back. Brandon is training for a marathon right now, so this has been on my mind for the past month or so...

You win the laugh of the day award! :)

Is Brandon doing that now too? He seems way to humble for that sort of self-aggrandizing - of course Cory is famous for it!

Too funny! I'm glad all the runners I know aren't that type, cuz I'm the old trollop. Good for Brandon!

That rocks!! I ran 800 meters last night too! Yeah - right after book club of course!!

That is too funny to me especially since I have just started back on the treadmill!

That hit way too close to home. I think I had that exact conversation with Brandon just the other day. Of course I don't remember how far it was he said he had run.

Everyone -

Please remember to guess low mileage when someone asks you how far he/she has run. Also, be sure to ask how the training is going or where they last ran. All of this is very important to a runner.

Good luck, Brandon. Three months to go. I think I'll be in town for the half.

So glad Cory gave me those excellent pointers so I never offend any runners:) Are you planning on doing the SW 5k again? Just to finish a 5k for me would be monumental.

Yes, Diana. I'm planning on the 5k, but I haven't run a step since crossing the finish line last year. Let's do it together!

Too funny!!! Thanks for sharing.

If you honestly haven't ran a step since the 5k then we would be excellent running partners - I didn't even run last year. So it is a date - lets do it together!

I'm going to guess 50 miles next time someone asks me to guess how far they ran..... which, believe me, happens far more often than you might think....

Ha Ha. I showed Cody.
He said to ask you.. "guess how far it is to the Dee Events Center and back?"

Hey Becky...I am running with you and Diana for the 5k this summer. I got up this morning to go run but the email/FB/ kept calling my name and before I knew it I was plunked down in this same ole hard chair with right hand on the mouse and clicking away....PATHETIC!!!

Also thanks for letting us use your house. You have one of the best backdrops girl!

OH my that is funny. What is that? Is it a TV show. People who run marathons amaze me. I love running, but not that much. :)

I LOVE LOVE your book of the week. It is one of my favorites ever. Like you said a little disturbing, but so worth it.

Hey, I ran my cart back to the holding rack at Wal-Mart! Does that count? That was at LEAST a mile! :)

Becky thanks for this post. It is a great tutorial for those of us non-runners in trying to communicate with our running offspring. I guessed low when Brandon asked me on Saturday "How far do you think I am running today?" I think he enjoyed his shocking response “13 miles!”

k, I'm actually training for the Ogden 1/2 this year. I try not to bug people too much about how much I ran/ or lately didn't run.

My Becky and I watched a whole slew of these skits after I saw this post. I love the ones about weight loss, Phantom fo the Opera, and Guess what I'm thinking.
